Kendani.com has been in the making for quite a few months now. We started off with an idea that we’ve toyed around with for a couple of years already. Astghik has dreamed of opening her own organic shop since she’s been a little girl, and Veijo was growing more and more frustrated while trying to find sustainably and ethically produced goods and finding it difficult to make better choices. Buying things online is really easy, but finding the good producers amongst thousands of them is time consuming. If only there was a good way to fix that problem! After discussing these matters, and letting the idea mull for a while, we decided to tackle the problem, fulfilling Astghik’s dream of running her own shop and helping people like Veijo to more easily and reliably find clothing and other goods that live up to the word ‘good’.
So in January of 2019 Kendani.com was born. The word ‘kendani’ is Armenian and roughly translates to ‘alive’. We thought it to be a fitting name for a platform that supports a change towards responsible consumption and helps our dear planet stay alive.
Today is an exciting day for all of us here at Kendani.com, as we’ve just published the site and we are open for business! It has taken a lot of work to get us here, a couple of redesigns on the platform and changes in the concept. There is still plenty left for all of us – Astghik, Veijo, Jake and Amaia – to do to reach the dream we have and build a marketplace where you can find a sustainable and ethical option for any product you need to buy, delivered with minimum environmental impact, and bringing joy for you and the rest of the World. All done easily, ethically, sustainably, and reliably. This is our dream, and we are on the way of making it happen.
